Jen’s been after me lately to get our VA’s going on our article submitting to help market our latest Joint Venture, Marketing Magnate. She’s right, of course, article marketing can be an excellent way to get targeted traffic to your Web site.

If you haven’t done any article marketing, you’re missing out on an excellent way to promote… well, whatever you are promoting! There are now a whole slew of quality article sites such as Ezine Articles and
Article Marketer.

Sites like these are visited by millions of people every day who are looking for quality site, blog and ezine content.

Some article sites show you how many views each article gets, how people voted on them and comments, etc., much like you see on YouTube videos. This is really helpful information both for an article writer and an article user.

The key when writing articles is to stick with a category highly related to your Web site, provide quality information and avoid the temptation to lead into selling something. It’s too soon! The goal of your articles is to generate traffic to your site via a clever and inviting sig file and then once they’re on your site, you can present your visitors with your income-earning offerings.

Set a goal to write two articles (more if you can swing it) per week, submit them to a highly respected article site and your traffic is set to improve.

Submitting articles is viral form of marketing. As the number of people who use your articles increases, the more traffic you’ll generate to your site.

Here’s an example…

Let’s say you write a useful article about “organizing the garage” and you submit it to the “Home and Family” category.

Dozens of people including other organizers will see your article and benefit from your excellent advice. Several home organization-related Webmasters will pick it up and send it to their subscribers. Home improvement bloggers might use it on their blogs. And it goes from there.

In your sig file, you’ll want to say something like…

Erin is a Professional Organizer and Webmaster of
homeorganizeit.com - a Web site created to help work at home moms get organized and find balance for their families.

Keep your sig file subtle, yet informative. This is really important if your article offers useful information that turns you into a credible source on the subject.

Article writing is beneficial for generating highly targeted traffic to your Web site. When writing, remember to…

• Look through articles in your category and try to find a topics that are not well covered.
• Develop an original and catchy headline.
• Be yourself when you write
• Provide quality, helpful information

And… watch your traffic Soar!
