I just got turned on to Caroline Middlebrook’s blog yesterday (thanks, Dennis!) and been very impressed with her writing and thoughts. She’s a relative newbie to the internet marketing field, so like us, she’s trying a lot of different tactics to see what sticks.

While exploring her site, I saw that she offers a free ebook, How to Develop Money-Making Niche Sites with Wordpress. Now, in all honesty, I haven’t read it yet, BUT if it’s half as good as her blog posts, you’ll be in good hands.

I’m totally sold on the idea of using Wordpress to create new web sites. I have both static sites and blogs and in my experience, blogs are just easier to use. Wordpress is open source, so it’s free and you can customize templates to create a new look. This blog is a customized WP template, as is another blog I just started at popular-dog-names.com. A new header and a little fancy footwork in the CSS template and you’ve got yourself a custom site! (One caveat, though: in order to use a custom WP template, you need to stick with your own hosting. Wordpress.com’s hosting is free, but has a number of rules about keeping your blogs there, so read up on their TOS!)
